EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive will be chaired by the President and includes the following officers:

OFFICE of the PRESIDENT: 'The President carries the major responsibility of the organization and represents it to the national and international community. The President gives leadership to DAAS as it develops broad policies; does long range planning; carries out the task necessary to achieving the purpose of the organization'. Dr Clayton A. OFFICE of the VICE-PRESIDENT: 'The Vice-President shall perform such duties as from time to time may be assigned to him/her by the Board of Directors. He or she will assume full responsibilities of the Chair in the event that the latter becomes absent for reasons which include resignation, dismissal, death, excused or unexcused absences'. EXECUTIVE SECRETARY: The Secretary shall keep accurate minutes of the meetings of the Executive, see that all notices are given in accordance with the provisions of the by-laws and as required by law and assume responsibility for signing with the President or other officer all documents which the Board of Directors has authorized to be executed. RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER: The work of DAAS is supported by empirical data. Our initiatives must "carry with them some scientific or other process with practical merit and which can assist the uplift of our people in education, business, trade, social organization etc." See Results of first Opinion Survey. LOCAL CHAPTER: This is the reality of the online endeavours. It is in Dominica all our efforts will bear fruit. This local DAAS will determine how best to coordinate and implement ideas coming from knowledgeable Dominicans at home and from the Diaspora. Interim Chair
PUBLIC RELATIONS: The PRO serves as Chairperson on the News and Information Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee. In addition, this department coordinates all Spokespersons who spread the message and mission of DAAS around the world. Vacant
EXECUTIVE TREASURER: All financial records will be coordinated by our Treasurer in this department. DAAS National Development Fund will be the major fund-raiser. Our Bank Accounts are opened at Wachovia Bank in the United States and National Bank in Dominica. Interim Treasurer, Julius Corbett
COMMITTEES COORDINATOR: The principal duties of the Committees Coordinator shall be to coordinate DAAS Committees through Committee Chairpersons, (except the Executive and Finance Committees which will be the direct responsibility of the President) Frank Watty
