Description of DAAS Lapel Pins

DAAS LAPEL PINS are now available for purchase by members and friends of the Academy. DAAS Vice President, Gabriel Christian, describes the Pin as follows:

"The DAAS pin is an exquisite piece of jewelry in solid gold and white enamel plating. The square pin does not exceed 1.5 inches across and displays the National Crest, composed of a shield being braced by two guardian Sisserou Parrots and atop which is a lion rampant.

The fine laser etching on the shield reveals the quadrants in neat detail - canoe, banana tree, palm and 'crapaud' clearly visible. The motto: 'Après Bondie C'est La Ter' - (After God the Earth) - is readable. At the top and bottom in block grooved letters is noted: 'The Dominica Academy of Arts and Sciences'."

Each piece comes in a plexiglass presentation box. Definitely an appropriate item for gift giving during any season and for any occasion. It speaks to our pride as a people and our respect for education as represented by our Academy which is the first in the English speaking Caribbean to have been launched on the world wide web.
The pins are offered to members and friends at a cost of US$10.00 to help defray expenses incurred in the maintenance and upkeep of our website. Orders, with cheque or money order to be sent to: C/O Gabriel Christian-Coordinator, Dominica Academy of Arts and Sciences, 3060 Mitchellville Road, Suite 216, Bowie, Md 20716

Matching Gifts

Double your contribution to your country at no cost to you!

Since 1934, millions of dollars have been provided through matching gifts to colleges, hospitals and other not-for-profit organizations. The National Development Fund is an integral part of the Dominica Academy of Arts and Sciences, a non-profit organization. Contributions to the Fund therefore qualify for matching gifts from a number of corporations that participate in such programs.

Through your participation in a matching gift program offered by your employer, the National Development Fund can double the strength of our program to provide needs-based grants throughout our homeland.

The matching gift application procedure is very simple! As a donor to the Fund, you need only to request a matching gift form from your personnel office at your place of employment.
