DAAS - Dominica Corporate Citizen

The Dominica Academy of Arts and Sciences (DAAS) is governed by its By Laws, which broadly define its purpose and mission and condensed at   Our Mission Statement.

The Bylaws authorise an elected   Board of Directors and an Executive Committee to formulate policies and manage the operations of the organisation.

DAAS accepts that, from time to time, it will be called upon to declare its position on matters of national importance, particularly where the welfare of the people of Dominica may be adversely affected. In so doing, DAAS is a corporate citizen of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
In declaring its position DAAS observes the following strict guidelines:

  • Statements must clearly be in the national interest
  • Statements must not take sides on the issue
  • Statements will be based on perceived facts and not hearsay
  • Statements must have the consent of the majority of Board and Executive Committee members
  • Statements will be disseminated to the Dominica media, the DAAS membership and Affiliate Dominica Associations.
